E=MC² IS A MUSICAL JOURNEY THROUGH THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE OF ALBERT EINSTEIN. Not only was Einstein a Nobel Prize winner in physics and one of the great geniuses of all time, he led a life which had an indelible impact on history, even including WWII.  E=MC² explores the many roles of Albert Einstein – son, husband, father, physicist, advocate for German Jewish scientists, civil rights activist and Zionist – all set in format of memorable music, dance and drama. 

The play is structured in two acts, covering the years 1896-1955, and has a cast of 15-16 actors. Albert Einstein (“EINSTEIN”) is our narrator. He speaks from his Princeton, New Jersey study circa 1954, as he looks back on his life. A younger actor, Albert (“ALBERT”), leads us through all the vignettes that make up the musical. 

THE STORY BEHIND E=MC²…

Karen Soroca and Janet Marie (“SOROCA & ALLOCCA”)

KAREN SOROCA and JANET MARIE have been writing songs as “SOROCA & ALLOCCA” for twenty years and have been friends even longer. E=MC² is their first musical!  Karen had the concept for the musical in mind for years and had studied Professor Einstein in depth. At Christmastime 2018, Karen approached Janet about co-writing E=MC². Janet responded: “Karen, you’ve been talking about this for years. Let’s do it!” In January of 2019, Karen and Janet dove in, writing the songs first and then, the book. A first draft was created in an astoundingly short eight months. 

WHY IS ”E=MC²” Relevant Now?

Einstein has had a profound impact on history and science, even down to the GPS on your phone!  The fascination with Einstein is universal.  On Facebook alone, Albert Einstein has NINETEEN MILLION followers!  A brand new, multi-million-dollar Albert Einstein Museum is being built in Israel and is expected to be a major tourist attraction.  In short, the Albert Einstein brand has a built-in appeal that will be of universal interest to theatre-goers of all ages 12 and up.
